Bevor ich meine Illustrationen digital bearbeite, nutze ich folgende Grundausstattung: Papier, Bleistifte, Kaffee, Schokolade, Anspitzer, Polychromos, drei alte Rapidographen und einen selbst gebauten Leuchttisch, bestehend aus einer Glasplatte, einer Lampe und zwei Stapeln Bücher. Darunter immer: »Das Lexikon der Tiere«, weil das mein stabilstes Buch ist.

Before I process my illustrations digitally, I use the following basic equipment: paper, pencils, coffee, chocolate, sharpener, Polychromos, three old Rapidographs, and a self-built light table consisting of a glass plate, a lamp, and two stacks of books. Always underneath: »The Encyclopaedia of Animals«, because that's my most stable book.

Für kurze Texte benutze ich gerne eine meiner Schreibmaschinen. Ja, Plural, denn im Laufe der Zeit ist eine kleine Sammlung entstanden. Dazu gehören verschiedene Modelle, von denen immer eines einsatzbereit auf meinem Schreibtisch steht. Wie man es allerdings geschafft hat, auf solchen Maschinen einst ganze Romane zu schreiben, ist mir ein absolutes Rätsel.

For short texts, I like to use one of my typewriters. Yes, plural, as a small collection has grown over time. It includes various models, one of which is always ready for use on my desk. Yet how people once managed to write entire novels on such machines remains an absolute mystery to me.
